This has to stop

Dear Readers,

I have had this website focused solely on horror entertainment for over seven years.  And if things in this country were anywhere even remotely near normal, I would be putting up the same type of reviews.  However, these are not normal times.  Therefore, my focus can no longer be merely the horror genre of the entertainment industry.  The real horror is happening right here in our communities, right here in our country, right before our eyes.

I can no longer stay silent as I watch the country I was raised to love and the values we have always represented and stood for get destroyed, mocked, and replaced by the same fascist views and policies we fought so bravely to defeat with our allies in WWII.

Now, the person in the White House is attempting to alienate and isolate us not only from our allies but from the rest of the entire world, of which we have been a top, if not ‘the’ top, global superpower for many decades.

In less than three months, this person has managed to effectively gut the federal labor force and, in doing so, make pretty much everything harder for the average citizen, tank the economy by putting outrageous and inexcusable tariffs on at least one hundred eighty countries therefore also further increasing prices for the average American, turn back at least one year of market growth (about $6T in less than 48hrs) which tanks everyone’s 401k retirement plan, and, to add further turmoil, violated the human rights and due process of hundreds of human beings by sending planes loaded with these kidnapped persons to a deadly supermax prison in El Salvador and paying the El Salvadoran government money to wrongfully imprison and torture these people, effectively taking due process away from ALL OF US.  

He has completely ended  US humanitarian aid across the globe, thereby sacrificing our soft power across the world, making us and our allies bigger, easier targets for our adversaries.  He has neglected to fire those involved in a major national security breach referred to as SignalGate, a breach that could have cost US military members lives.  He has fired thousands of our veterans, many disabled, taking away the very people who help other veterans with services, counseling, and medical treatment, not to mention getting these honored veterans access to the benefits THEY HAVE EARNED by serving our country.  

He has started the congressional process of giving trillions of dollars in tax cuts to his billionaire cabinet buddies and not just raising taxes on the working and lower class while simultaneously forcing the government to cut over $880B in Medicaid funding with plans to cut social security and Medicare too, the two public healthcare programs that the vast majority of our senior citizens and lower-income families use, virtually taking away any chance of medical coverage for any kind of medical issues including conditions they were born with, other pre-existing conditions and emergency needs for these people and their CHILDREN ever.  

He’s tried to intimidate Canada into being the 51st state (which would be wholly a blue state if that nonsense were ever to happen and guarantee that Republicans would never win a national election again), threatened to take over Greenland by force if needed (for no reason), renamed the Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America (for no reason) even though the rest of the entire world only recognizes it as the Gulf of Mexico and will not change it on any map, threatened to take back the Panama Canal (which wasn’t ours to begin with, we took it from Panama and then gave it back in a treaty, as we rightly should have, again doing this for no reason) also by force if needed, and has boasted about wanting to ethnically cleanse the Gaza Strip of Palestinians so he can turn it into another failed Trump hotel and casino venture.  He has backed Russia in its efforts to unlawfully annex Ukraine by publicly speaking against and badmouthing President Zelenskyy (completely unethical and unprofessional, not to mention utterly embarrassing), he and his cronies have repeated Russian TV propaganda verbatim and cutting off ALL aid and intelligence to Ukraine, leaving them even more vulnerable to Russia’s illegal, immoral, and violent invasion, allowing Putin to violate the ceasefire agreement that was just recently signed and murdering hundreds of Ukranians.  And finally, he has taken drastic steps to eradicate every right, law, value, and privilege enshrined in our Constitution and afforded to us by being in this country. 

And these are just the things that I have off the top of my head.  There are many, many more things he’s done and/or is trying to do by executive order, proclamation, through Elon or Stephen Miller or his cronies in Congress.
 
My fellow Americans, people, this has to stop.  Not only do we have people voting against their own interests in 2025, but we have begun a dangerous, backward slide that will lead to full authoritarianism for the first time in this country.  

Please recognize that the people who are getting hurt by these fascist policies are our fellow citizens, our fellow Americans, our fellow human beings.  They are our neighbors and co-workers, our friends and family.
  
You have been lied to.

You have been repeatedly told and thereby convinced that non-white people, immigrants, the poor, and disenfranchised are the one and the only reason you feel struggle in life (either always or at certain times), that they are somehow to blame for any problem you have, that they are draining valuable resources from our government and are a blight on our economy, that they are all criminals, gang members, and violent offenders.

THIS IS NOT TRUE.

For those who have no historical knowledge…
Immigrants and criminals founded this country.   Our founding fathers didn’t want to pay outlandishly high and unreasonable taxes to a king who gave them no representation or agency to address grievances.  They didn’t want to be told what religion to practice or whether to practice one at all.  This was, at the time, considered criminal by the king. 
 
And by the way, the tobacco and tea that we planted and built the foundation of this country on, well, we took that ILLEGALLY from the British Monarchy’s control when we left his country and then planted it as crops when we settled here.  We stole it.  And then we smuggled it across every border we passed just like the “drug traffickers” and criminals that the Republicans pretend to rail against. 

And for those who vote Republican for religious or faith-based reasons, these people in charge are not living nor practicing the teachings or word of God or Jesus.  Though these people constantly rail against those who don’t believe in God or live the exact way they do, the vast majority of these people DO NOT live Christian lives.

Now, I’m no theologian or religion expert.  But I do remember my childhood in church.  And what I remember is FAR different than what these people relentlessly preach but don’t follow.  

Jesus traveled the earth, spreading the word of God.  He did NOT discriminate.  He welcomed everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, sex, gender, economic standing, or RELIGION.  

Jesus taught that you should love thy neighbor.  Feed the hungry.  Clothe the needy.  Heal the sick.  Help the infirm.  Give unto others instead of yourself.

So, that would mean that true Christians would support programs like USAID, Medicaid, SNAP benefits, and social security.  I have gotten so tired of all these far-right Republicans saying that they are the party of “law and order,” “family values,” “pro-life,” “America first,” and blah, blah, blah.

The party of “family values” has multiple people in top leadership positions who have been repeatedly accused of sexual assault, abuse, or misconduct some against adult women, others against minors.  This is also the “pro-life” party, and yet they only seem to care about children when they are in the womb.  Once the children are born, they want to cut all their education, medical care, and nutrition programs.  So much for being pro-life.  Pro-life would suggest that they want children to live and grow up healthy and happy and into adults who contribute to society.  But they do everything in their power to make sure all of these children will suffer and that some of them die.  Yet they like to go around and spout that they are “pro-life” as they actively kill children who are already born and on this earth.  

They claim to be “pro-life,” but I would submit that they don’t care about women’s lives or unborn lives.  They only care about controlling a woman and her body.  They do not care if carrying the pregnancy to term will kill the mother and/or fetus.  They don’t care if the baby is born to a single mother with no job, no place to live, and no healthcare and addiction issues.  They do not care if the child will be deformed or even unable to survive once born.  They don’t care if that mother dies during delivery and leaves that child an orphan stuck in a broken foster and adoption system that they don’t want to support or fund (and they don’t really seem to believe in this anyway because when asked if they’ve ever fostered or adopted any children, their response is most often “No, I have MY OWN children”).  They don’t care if that mother dies, leaving the children she’s already given birth to without a mother.  They don’t care if this infant will die minutes after birth or that the infant would know nothing but excruciating pain and suffering in those few minutes that they do live.  They do not care if that child is born into an abusive home.  

They do not care if a ten-year-old girl is repeatedly raped against her will and then ends up pregnant against her will.  I submit that forcing a ten-year-old child to carry a pregnancy that she didn’t want or have a choice in conceiving to term and forcing her to deliver that baby is child abuse.  There is not a ten-year-old in the country, I would argue, or even in the world that is developed enough (mentally, emotionally, or physically), mature enough, or knowledgeable enough to carry, deliver, and raise a child.  I would also submit that forcing that child to become a parent at ten would constitute child abuse for the newborn infant, as a ten-year-old likely doesn’t have the knowledge, skills, or financial means to support and raise a child.  So, the people who are constantly railing against a woman’s right to choose and always barking about how every life matters seem to only care about any child’s life until the child is born.  Once the child is born, they don’t care what happens to them.  And they clearly don’t care about the mother at all because they do not care if mothers that want to have children and suffer unfortunate complications bleed out and die, leaving their living children motherless, her husband a widower.  All for no other reason than these men want to continue to control women's bodies. (Btw, nobody is telling men they have to stop having children and get a vasectomy when they get old.  Or when they father multiple children out of wedlock and do not support them.  Or when they are convicted of sexual assault or rape, even if the victim is a child.  These rich, white, Republican politicians would never get on board with something that so outrageously invaded their own personal autonomy.)

And I will take this moment to point out that the current leader of this “family values” party has five different children by three different women, ALL of whom he cheated on while married to them.  He has almost no contact with his current wife or youngest child.  He brags about his “family values,” yet he clearly has none. This is the man who buried his first wife behind a bunker on his golf course solely to get a tax break and then let her grave become overgrown and covered in vegetation and weeds.  This is a man who said the one thing he had in common with his own daughter was sex.  This is a man who has walked in on underage girls naked in the dressing rooms at his beauty competitions just because he thought he could since he owned the competition.

And if they believe in “law and order” so much, why don’t they believe in the Constitution or our judicial system? Why don’t they obey court orders?  Why don’t they accept jury verdicts?  Why do they continue to violate the law and the Constitution?  Why are they denying people the very due process that the Constitution guarantees to EVERY SINGLE HUMAN BEING that is in this country, regardless of immigration status?  Why are they so against the First Amendment?  And why don’t they support our law enforcement and military service members?  We are constantly being told by these people that they “back the blue” and “support our veterans”, yet he pardoned those who violently attacked Capitol and Metro Police on January 6, 2021, and they have cut staff and benefits for veterans at the VA.

And it can’t even be said that they care about this country’s senior citizens because they are working to cut Medicare and Social Security benefits for millions of Americans.  They obviously don’t care about children because they just voted this past week to cut Medicaid, the country’s largest medical insurer, providing medical coverage for over 13 MILLION people.
 
And this “Christian, family value, blue backing, law and order” person is racist.  He was sued by the government in the 1980s for housing discrimination against non-white people trying to rent in one of his buildings in New York.  It is this very racism that has spurned these “mass deportations” that MAGA seems to love. Even non-white people and current immigrants voted for “mass deportations.”  I heard a lot of complaints about all the border crossings and “anchor babies,” and “they’re taking our jobs,” “they’re draining resources away from Americans,” and blah, blah, blah.

But what none of these MAGA followers realize (or admit) is that Trump’s wife is an immigrant.  She was brought here on a Visa she did not qualify for, but Trump pulled strings, called in favors, and paid extra money to get her this Einstein Visa, which is supposed to be a US employment-based green card category for individuals with extraordinary ability in science, arts, education, business, or athletics, demonstrated by sustained national or international acclaim.  She was none of these.  She was a model.  That’s all.  So, their dear leader’s wife came here illegally in 2001.  She got her naturalized citizenship July 28, 2006.  Then, she immediately sponsored her parents to come to America.  This is exactly, by definition, the chain migration Republicans are always whining about.  Also, in March of 2006, Barron was born BEFORE SHE WAS A NATURALIZED CITIZEN.  This, by their own republican definition, would make Barron an anchor baby.  She came here illegally, was not yet a citizen, and then had a baby who is naturally a citizen, anchoring her immigration to this country.  

Isn’t that the illegal immigration that Republicans are so upset about?  Shouldn’t they all be deported???

And the complaint that MAGA asserts, that all undocumented immigrants are criminals, should be redirected to the current White House and its administration.  They want to deport people for non-violet misdemeanor crimes, yet they are totally blind to the thirty-four count felon who has been found civilly liable for sexual abuse/assault for forcibly penetrating a woman’s vagina with his finger against her will and for defaming the same woman, twice.  So, he’s guilty.  Juries of citizens chosen by his own lawyers found that he was guilty. 
 
So, why do immigrants have stricter requirements than the person they are willing to put in the most powerful office in the world (for now)?  Why is it okay for multiple people with multiple sexual misconduct allegations, convictions, investigations, or lawsuit settlements, but it’s not okay for someone to come here by crossing the border illegally, committing no crimes other than that, and then working and paying taxes?
  
I’m sorry, but that logic just doesn’t make sense. 

Then there’s Elon Musk. He came to this country illegally, too. He came from Canada in 1995 after moving there from South Africa in 1989. He stayed here for almost ten years illegally. Then, he got his naturalized citizenship in 2002. And he has broken multiple laws since he’s been here. 

So, shouldn’t he and his relatives be deported, too?  I’m just going by Republican logic.  I’m not saying the logic is correct.  At all.

So all their complaints about illegal immigrants need to be focused on the White House BEFORE they start haphazardly deporting innocent, hard-working, tax-paying immigrants with legal status or who are going through the immigration process.

By the way, undocumented immigrants DO pay taxes while getting NO BENEFITS from any government department or program.  Undocumented immigrants pay roughly $96.7B (BILLION) a year in local, state, and federal taxes because they have a Taxpayer Identification Number.  This means they work and pay taxes.  They put money into Social Security.  They contribute to Medicare and Medicaid.  They contribute to SNAP and WIC benefits.  Yet they get none of the money or benefits they pay into.  They do not get tax credits for children and/or spouses or as caregivers or head-of-household, and they very rarely get any kind of tax refund checks, if ever at all.  They are willing to do this because they want so badly to be here and make a better life for themselves and for their families.  That’s exactly how our founding fathers felt.  That’s all they wanted, just a better life for themselves and their families. 

But for some reason, this administration and its supporters don’t think that should be available to these immigrants.  They don’t care that these immigrants make up an overwhelming portion of our manual labor workforce.  They don’t care that these immigrants are willingly doing the jobs that so many Americans think they’re too good for and refuse to do.  They don’t care that native-born Americans are at least two times more likely to commit crimes than immigrants (documented or undocumented), including violent crimes.  In fact, studies have shown that as the immigrant population in a community rises, the crime rate actually falls.  

Now, I know that little tidbit is going to set some of your heads on fire, but don't get too upset with me.  All of that is avilable online if you just search for it.  You’re gonna have to admit the facts eventually.  Might as well start now.

What the immigration issue REALLY seems to be is about race and ethnicity.  Nothing fancy or complicated.  Just pure, old-fashioned racism.  Notice that all of the time periods that Trump laments are times when racism was the prevailing social structure and widely accepted and condoned.  And that racism applies to everyone. No Trump supporter is immune to it.  And it’s not just skin color; it’s ethnicity and religion as well.  They don’t seem to like Jewish people in this country, although they do spew support for Israel.  I maintain they only support Israel because they are bombing Palestinian people, and obviously, the Palestinian people generally have slightly darker skin, although I would never presume that is true for everyone who lives there.  Interestingly, Israel is a country with all different skin colors as well, but it seems that MAGA ignores that part.  But that’s really the only logical reason that they are so against immigrants coming into this country.  We hear them complain about people from Mexico, South American and Central American countries, Asian countries, Middle-Eastern countries, and African countries.  

Yet, you never hear them complain about white people from Europe or Canada (before Trump started his war against our closest ally in the world, both geographically and economically).  They don’t seem to have a problem with white South African or Slovenian immigrants, but maybe that’s just because those groups of immigrants include Musk and Melania.

MAGA also seems to have a problem with people speaking other languages in this country.  That’s ridiculous.  First of all, English is the world’s international business language.  You can find people speaking English across the globe.  It’s not going away.  Yet, when these people come here to live and work, MAGA seems to believe they should leave every aspect of their culture and their former life behind and act like their culture never existed.  The problem with that is multifaceted.  First, no American would leave what they consider “American culture” behind and completely assimilate and conform to the new country they chose to move to.  And yes, Americans do leave America and go live in other countries.  So, MAGA expects these fellow human beings to ignore everything that makes them who they are in order to be here.  Next, having this opinion ignores the blatant fact that American culture is the melting pot of all other cultures.  That’s what makes it American.  If one really felt that immigrants do not belong here and that no other culture than American culture should exist or be observed in this country, then I submit there are a few key things they should be doing in support of those beliefs they preach so vehemently.  

First, they should not eat ANY FOOD that did not originate in America.  So, no Mexican food, no tortillas, no burritos, no black or refried beans, no Spanish rice, no margaritas, and no Taco Tuesdays.  Oh, and no garlic.  The Spanish brought that in the 1500s.  No Chinese food, no fried rice, no lo mein, no Kung Pao chicken, no wonton soup, no dumplings or spring rolls.  No Italian food.  That means no marinara, no pesto, no lasagna, no mozzarella cheese. Nothing French, so you can forget most pastries.  All of this also means no hotdogs, no burgers, no mac-n-cheese, no fried chicken.  Yes, all of those classic American favorites are rooted in other cultures.  So are french fries, so you can forget about those too.  No more wine, champagne, beer, or even cheese.  Cheese originated in the Middle East.  And there’s so much more because America is also the culinary melting pot of the world.

Second, basic things like toilets, couches, telephones, and the type of electricity we use every single day (AC electricity) all came from other countries.  So if you want “only American,” then all those kinds of things need to go too.  And ladies, you can forget your makeup and go ‘au naturale’ because that was invented by the Egyptians.

Next, since about 98% of people in this country are direct descendants of immigrants who either founded this country or came after it was founded, we all need to leave.  And before you get all angry with me over this, I’m just following the MAGA logic of “only American culture” and that there shouldn’t be any immigrants here.  Technically, only those descendants of Indigenous People are really supposed to be here, according to MAGA logic, and I know not everyone has Native American heritage, so again, don’t all these people need to leave???
Now, clearly, that list isn’t everything MAGA would have to give up to actually live the beliefs they spout, but I didn’t feel it was necessary to do so because, honestly, I think what I listed should be enough to explain my point.  The point is that it’s not about preserving “American culture” or being “America First”.  If that were really the case, our country would be entirely different than it is.  It’s about preserving “white culture”, which let’s be honest for a minute, is obviously never going away, at least not in any of our lifetimes.  It’s about keeping America as “white” as possible and only allowing immigrants in to do the work Americans won’t do at a price that Americans would never accept.  It’s about keeping anybody who is not white under the thumbs of the wealthiest white people in the country.  And THAT is completely un-American.
 
At the base of the Statue of Liberty, which was gifted to us by our ally, France, to commemorate said alliance during the Revolutionary War as a symbol of recognition of the United States as a country that held, pursued, and championed freedom, liberty, and the shared ideals between our two countries, it says, in part, “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free” as part of the symbolism the Statue of Liberty represents; the hope, the dreams, and the opportunities to be happier, healthier, wealthier, to live a better life, and enjoy the freedom we have always believed every person in the world is entitled to.
 
That is not what MAGA and Trump believes.  That is not how they feel about this country at all.
  
And while we have never fully lived up to the ideals that this country was founded on, we have never stopped striving and working toward that goal.  Have we made bad decisions along the way?  Absolutely.  Have we gotten everything right?  Absolutely NOT.  It’s very basic; you try, and you fail.  So, you try again and fail better.  Eventually, we get it right.

This is not “failing better”.  We are moving backward so quickly that we are getting whiplash.  Trump and his reign have taken this country back to 1929.  He spends all his time golfing and signing executive orders that hurt and kill people as a result.  And he doesn’t care.
 
So, don’t think you are going to come out of this unscathed MAGA.  Right now, it’s your 401k.  Next, it will be your privacy.  Then, your basic human and constitutional rights.  Then, your dignity and humanity.  
 
Don’t let this man destroy everything you worked your whole life to build.  Even if you have only a little bit, that’s YOURS!  You worked for it.  You earned it.  You were the one who put the blood, sweat, and tears into building that for yourself and your family.  Don’t let an ignorant billionaire wreck your entire life just so they can get a tax break for a few years.  Don’t let them destroy the very fabric of America and the beauty of the people and diversity this country holds.  Don’t let them take away your social security, your healthcare, your children’s healthcare and their education.  Don’t let them turn their backs on our veterans.  These are people who VOLUNTEERED to do a job the rest of us can’t, won’t, or don’t want to do.  They risked their lives for this country, for our safety and prosperity.  And they are being paid back for their sacrifice by taking away their healthcare benefits, their counseling services, and their community services.  They are trying to take away their honor and dignity.  Don’t let that happen to our nation’s heroes.
 
Don’t let Trump destroy your life, your children’s future, our veterans, and our country.  This is all voluntary by Trump.  It doesn’t have to be this way.  This is solely HIS FAULT.  And he could change it at any time.  He just doesn’t care.  So, he won’t.
 
And one more thing.  Notice who ISN’T wrecking the economy and our country.  Women. African-Americans.  Hispanics.  Asians.  Latino people.  Muslims.  Gay people.  Trans people.  Immigrants.

THEY ARE NOT THE ONES CAUSING YOU PAIN.  THEY ARE NOT THE ONES WRECKING THE ECONOMY.  THEY ARE NOT THE ONES TANKING YOUR RETIREMENT.  THEY ARE NOT THE ONES RUINING YOUR LIVES.

IT IS TRUMP WHO IS DOING THAT TO YOU.  AND NO ONE ELSE.

So, the next time you want to blame somebody for your lot in life, for your struggles or unhappiness…you need to blame the white male billionaires who aren’t feeling any pain and are making billions right now.  They DO NOT care about you, and they never will.
