The Hunt for Zodiac by Mike Rodelli

WOW! What a great bookl!  Not only is there “in-detail” walkthroughs of each Zodiac crime but, a new suspect is named and to me, this seems to be a very viable suspect.  This book is an impressive collection of a man’s eighteen years of research and amateur investigation.  He meticulously pieces together a mountain of evidence which points directly to one person.  His almost two decades of relentless digging, searching, questioning and fact-finding has led to the presentation of a thorough casefile on the Zodiac murders and the killer himself.  We are given a behavioral profile along with certain “signature” idiosyncrasies highlighted and brought to mainstream attention.  Plus, this guy has evidence exhibits to back up his theory.  Truly a fascinating case has been developed here.

Although this is a lot of information, and at times can kind of be overwhelming, Rodelli has very efficiently sorted the facts for us, allowing us to read through with ease and quick understanding.

This is definitely NOT the Zodiac case we all know about.  There is SO much more here than the usual facts you get in the regular documentaries.  There are serious questions about the police sketch, parts of the investigations itself and the neglect or plain disregard of important possible evidence.

Rodelli has obviously dedicated a lot of time, effort and energy (and probably his own money) to getting as close to solving the case as possible.  I do believe, after reading this book, that he may very well be the closest anyone has EVER come to identifying who the Zodiac killer really is.

Anybody who likes true crime or unsolved true crime cases would absolutely LOVE this book.  If this would be your first REAL exposure to the case, then you are in for an extremely lucky treat.  Definitely a must read for all crime fans!  Incredibly informative and a fascinating read!

Hi,

Thanks for the great review. Just one correction: This is a true-crime book, not a novel! I lived this story for eighteen years...

My apologies. I will correct that.

Hi,

Thanks. It is a actually somewhat of a compliment to mistake my true story for a novel! It serves to emphasize the fact that some of it is so implausible as to make it seem like it can't possibly be true.

I promise I meant NO disrespect. This was truly one of the most fascinating case files I have ever gotten the chance to read. I say case file because of the amount of work put in and the almost overwhelming amount of information and facts, not to mention the evidence exhibits. It also reads, to me, as if it were a large folder encompassing all the facts and details of the case finally being presented to the Prosecutor. I can see in my head the case being laid out in a courtroom. I would, myself, be very inclined to vote guilty. I just don't see any other verdict after being presented with all the evidence you have accumulated. You have done a superior job and I applaud your amazing work.

Dear Countess,

Not to fret. I was not insulted. To mistake a true-crime story for fiction is, as I said, a compliment. That just reinforces how unexpected my story is. But if you wish to make amends, I'd appreciate it if you would also post a review with similar sentiments to those you have expressed in your review and your comment above on Amazon, where most people go to buy my book. Thanks.

I would love to do that except when I try to write a review, the site tells me I need a valid purchase of the book. Seeing as how your publisher sent this to me, I am unable to get into the form to write a review. I do so apologize. Let me know if you know of a work-around for that.

Hi,

I don't write many reviews but I just went on the site and chose a random book and chose the # of stars and a box opened and allowed me to type a review. I did not submit but there was a submit button at the bottom right. I then went to my own book and started the process and same thing. So I don't know what issue you ran into.

I'll try again after my next order comes. Maybe it will let me after a recent purchase ships.

This is what I run into when I click on your book and click write a review: To submit reviews, customers must make a minimum amount of valid debit or credit card purchases. Prime subscriptions and promotional discounts don't qualify towards the purchase minimum. For more information, see our Customer Review Guidelines.

If you have another account and you have already used it to make a purchase, you can sign into that account to write a review.

I don't understand why I get this. I've made recent purchases on Amazon, just not books. But, when I go to look at the rules they have for posting reviews it's not clear as to why I wouldn't be able to post a review.

Again, I truly apologize.
